The LSTA Collection Development Grant allowed us to purchase new Launchpads, Wonderbooks and Playaways. We also were able to purchase several new types of media we haven’t had at Gardendale before like Whazoodles, VidieGoGo, IR Books, and VOX books!

We are so excited to grow our collection with these additions. Our focus was to buy items that were more than “just a book.” Items like Launchpads (tablet like learning devices), Whazoodles (audio enabled interactive devices), and audio enabled books topped our wish list.

We purchased items across all age groups, in both fiction and nonfiction. These types of items help provide reading opportunities for many readers who may struggle with smaller fonts or traditional books. We are so excited to get these new items into your hands and look forward to building the collection in the future!
